InForm — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 August 2026

InForm is a motion-analysis app for dance and sports. It films, slows down, annotates, measures and compares video.

InForm has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no crash reporting. The developer receives no data from your use of the app. Your videos, photos, drawings and notes are stored on your device and are not uploaded anywhere by InForm.

What InForm stores on your device

All of the following is kept in the app's own storage on your phone, and none of it is transmitted by InForm:

When you save a frame capture, InForm may also place a copy in your device's photo gallery so it appears alongside your other pictures. That copy is yours and stays on the device.

When information leaves your device

InForm makes network requests only in the situations below. Each one is started by something you do.

WhenWhat happens
You use dictation to speak a note InForm hands the microphone to your device's built-in speech recognition service — on most Android phones this is provided by Google. Your spoken audio is sent to that service to be turned into text, and is handled under that provider's privacy policy, not InForm's. The resulting text is written into your note on the device. InForm does not receive or keep a copy of the audio. Dictation runs only while you hold the microphone button; if you never use it, no audio is ever sent.
You open a YouTube video InForm uses YouTube API Services: when you open a YouTube link, the app requests the video's thumbnail and basic details from YouTube and plays the video using YouTube's own embedded player inside the app. YouTube and Google may collect information about that playback, including through cookies, in the same way they would if you watched the video on YouTube's website. This is governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. You can see and manage the data Google holds at Google My Account.
You tap a support or donation link InForm opens your browser at that page — for example Stripe or Venmo. InForm sends nothing with you; anything you do there is between you and that company, under their own privacy policies. InForm has no payment processing of its own, stores no card or bank details, and is never told whether a payment happened.
You share a clip or a project InForm hands the file to your device's share sheet and you choose where it goes. Nothing is uploaded until you pick a destination.
The app checks for a new version
(versions installed outside the Google Play Store only)
InForm requests a small file listing the newest available version. No information about you or your videos is sent — only the request itself, which necessarily includes your IP address, as any web request does. Copies installed from Google Play do not make this request; Play handles updates.

Permissions and why InForm asks

PermissionUsed for
CameraFilming a session in the app. Video is written to your device. InForm never streams or uploads camera footage.
MicrophoneSound on videos you film, voice notes, and dictation. See the dictation row above — it is the only case where audio leaves the device.
InternetYouTube playback and search, opening support links, and the update check described above.
VibrationSmall haptic taps when stepping a frame or setting a loop marker.
Keep screen onStops the screen sleeping while a video is playing or while the camera is recording.

You can open videos and photos from your device's library whenever you like. InForm does this through the Android system picker, which hands the app only the single file you chose — so InForm never needs, and never asks for, access to your photo library as a whole.

Children

InForm is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. It has no accounts and collects no personal information from any user.

Your control over your data

Since InForm holds no data about you on any server, there is nothing for the developer to delete, export or correct on request.

Changes to this policy

If InForm's handling of information changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top changed with it.
